Trekking Tours

Mostly in Southern Shan State, Northern Shan State and Eastern Shan States has the best locations for the trekkings. The mountains there are at least above 900 meter above sea level and has the cool, nice weather for the trekkers. You can take the adventurous trekking in Putao (Kachin State) and Himalaya Range is the ultimate destination with pristine nature surrounded by snowcapped mountain, cascading river and untamed forest trails as well the Chin Hill Mt.Victoria where a remote place to unfold the nature and it’s people.

Kalaw & Pindaya (Southern Shan State)

Kalaw is a hill town in Southern Shan State literally known as a Pine Land, Taunggyi District. It was colonized by the British in 1952. Kalaw is the main setting of the novel “The Art of Hearing Heartbeats” by Jan-Philipp Sendker. The hill station is located at an elevation of 1310 metres, 50 km from the Inle lake or Pindaya. You can make easy day trekkingor overnight treks to Danu, Danaw, Palaung, Pa-O and Taung Yo villages. There is a “Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp” where you can drive just 40minutes from Kalaw.

Pindaya

Pindaya is a Danu tribe self-administered zone. From Pindaya the trekking is most beautiful with scenic trek routes through to Kalaw and Inle Lake. If you make trekking in Pindaya, you cannot make a day trek, it needs minimum 2 nights on the way to arrive to Inle Lake.

Pyin Oo Lwin, Hsipaw, Kyaukme, Kutkai, Noung Mon, Namsam, Lashio (Northern Shan State)

Starting from 3Days/2Nights trekking program to Pyin Oo Lwin and which needs more days to ahead of further north can make you an authentic trekking experience in Myanmar. We will assist your trekking along with the well-organized program and experienced trekking guides.

Kentung (Kyaing Tong) Eastern Shan State

Kyaing Tong is the capital of the Golden Triangle Region and has 2710 ft above sea level. If you really wish to see hill tribes in Myanmar seriously, the best is to trek around Kyaing Tong mountains where you can see many colorful ethnic groups including the Khun, Wa, Ann, Akha, Akhu, Palaungand Lahu hill tribes. It is one of the old capitals of Shan People built around the lake and with Buddhist temples and colonial architecture, the most scenic of Shan State towns.

Putao

Putao is the northernmost town of Kachin State, 2000 ft above sea level where you can make adventurous hiking & trekking in Myanmar. It can only be reached by road during summer and winter as long as it doesn’t rain in winter although the road area is tropical and rainfall also very common whole year, but is accessible year round by air if there are sufficient tourist groups to justify a plane. The area around Putao is famous for the variety of endemic birds and rare orchids, which grow naturally. Many orchid lovers are especially attracted by the so-called “Black Orchid” that can be found in the mountains east and west of Putao. Hkakabo Razi and other snow-capped mountains are visible from Putao.

Chin Hill Mt.Victoria

The misty hills and mountain forests birds and orchid or ethnic exploration of small friendly tribal villages. Chin state offers unique culture of tribal groups who still practice making facial tattoos and nature discovery off the beaten trails far away mass tourists trails. Due to remoteness, it can be visited on our jeep tours. You will need at least week to explore this amazing region. Mt Victoria range surroundings is perfect for trekking, village walks and photography tours and well as orchid tours. You can either do day tours and walks from Mindat or Kanpetlet or multi-day treks sleeping in local village houses or camping.
