Itinerary Day by Day

Day 01: Yangon – Sittwe– Mrauk U (By Flight/ Public Boat)

Fly to Sittwe. Arrive at Sittwe transfer to Sittwe Jetty where you board the public boat (5 hours) to MRAUK OO, Rakhine’s capital in 15th century, when it enjoyed great wealth and was an important commercial port. The journey on the Kaladan River, through changing scenery, upriver towards the hill surrounding Mrauk U. The town has great charm with is many local markets, solid wooden house and Bamboo houses, canals, hills and friendly people. Some of the ancient pagodas and ruins can be visited by foot or a, horse cart, bullock cart or vehicle from the town. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel. Overnight in Mrauk U.

Day 02: Mrauk U – Excursion

After breakfast, visit most famous is SHITTAUNG PAGODA, perhaps the best preserved Pagoda, and home to some 80,000 holy Buddha images. 33 smaller ones, rising from platform to platform, similar in style to Indonesia’s Borobudur, flank the large central stupa. Inside the Pagoda is like a maze and it’s fascinating to wander through the interior passages, admiring reliefs and Buddha images in niches. Visit ANDAW PAGODA, an eight sided monument which is smaller than Shittaung but with a similar linear layout. Opposite Shittaung, visit DUKKANTHEIN “ordination hall”, a construction of laterite and sandstone bricks that resembles a huge bunker from the outside. Enjoy sunset at HARRE TAUND PAGODA HILL. Overnight in Mrauk U.

Day 03: Mrauk U – Chin Village

After breakfast at the hotel, visit Mrauk U’s local market and KOE THAUNG TEMPLE. Continue to Lay Myo river bank. And then proceed by boat to Chin Tattoo area, where trail to three Chin TATTOO VILLAGES by boat and walk to the hill tribe’s people. Visit to waving project at the chin village. The villagers are very basic life style. Some Tattoo ladies are very proud of their tattoo designed on their faces and waving designed. You will see how the villagers will warmly welcome and friendly. Packed lunch is included. Return back to Mrauk U for dinner at a local restaurant or hotel. Accommodation at Mrauk U.

Day 04: Mrauk U – Sittwe – Yangon (By Flight/ Boat/ Car)

Early morning, check-out at hotel and take a drive to jetty and return to Sittwe by public boat.
Transfer to Sittwe airport for departure flight to Yangon.
